  LE MARAIS
Paris is divided into 20 neighborhoods, or arrondissements. The apartment at 7, rue Volta is in the third arrondissement, also known as the Marais. This area has undergone gentrification during the past several years. The Marais is home to art galleries, trendy boutiques, specialized shops, bars and restaurants as well as well-known museums. Shops in the Marais are in the only district that ignores the city's law banning Sunday store hours. Shoppers come from all over to walk the cobblestone streets on Sunday afternoons.

THE MÉTRO

The easiest, fastest and cheapest way to get around Paris is by métro. The apartment at 7 rue Volta is 20 meters from the Arts et Métiers station. This station services line 3 and line 11.

A one-way ticket on the métro costs 1.50 euros; a book of 10 tickets (un carnet) is 10.50 euros. Daily passes (Paris Visite) and weekly passes (Carte Orange) are also available. For more information, visit RATP's site.
